2008 Summer Movies

I have watched in the summer of 2008 till now the next movies:

The general idea I got of watching them is that really the Egyptian cinema is going with stabled foot to the front and the industry of making movies is going high and high…because the three movies were different than what we have ever seen in the arab movies before; three different ideas, three different directing ways, three different cases and stories…comes along with the good way of acting, photographing, directing, editing….etc.

· The Baby Doll Night:

The movie tells some political case of what invasion and terrorism causes and leads to the world countries, passing with the injustice of America to Iraq, Israel to Palastine, and Germany to the Jewish.

But the story is about the 2008 new year night as American group is coming to Egypt to spend the new year celebration in Egypt and it includes VIP persons from USA (Gamil Rateb & Layla Olwy) and this group is escorted by Egyptian responsible from hosting travel agency in USA branch (Mahmoud A. Aziz) who was being healed from being sterile and he is coming with a very special present to his wife (Solaf Fawakhergy) which is {Baby Doll} in order to make love together in this beautiful night.
The plot is one of the Egyptians soldiers (Noor El- Sherif) was tortured in Iraqi prisons of Abu Gharib by the American Army and want to have a revenge of all the Americans and so he intended to blow up the bus of the American group, then when he failed he wanted to blow up the whole hotel where the American group is, this all through the help of his friend who is Cairo Cap Driver (Gamal Soliman) but this driver refused to blow the hotel as there are many innocents inside and consider this as terrorist action but for the blind fury of the soldier he kills his friend and try to blow it himself and that's the last shot when the Egyptian Central Forces officer in charge of protecting the American Group (Mahmoud Hemaeda) screw his plan and shoot him to death.

· Cabaret:

The movie tells the concept of how if you want to be good to your god, he will help you and if you want to be bad you will have a real bad end no matter how you protect yourself from it, besides the result of those who thinks that they are cheating god.

The story is about one night is being spent in Egyptian Night Club {Cabaret} where you can see in the beginning the normal life outside the cabaret of the staff, the waiter (Ahmed Bedair), the Ket {one who collect the tips} (Alaa Morsy), cabaret hooker (Jomana Morad) and the body guard (Mohammed Lotfy). Then you can see the way they live in the cabaret when the night falls down and the show starts.
The plot is Terrorist Association is trying to blow up the cabaret by sending one of his members (Fatehy A. Wahab) to explode himself in the cabaret but the botton of the detonator didn't work out so he started to cry & drink until the association leader (Mahmoud El- Gendy) sends another one instead of him.
On the other side everyone inside the cabaret has his own problem as the singer (Khaled El- Sawy) has two problems; at home his wife (Ranya Youssef) wants divorce and at work there is new singer threatens his success (Edward) while the ket wants to collect money for his daughter to pay the school annual fees, in the mean time the hooker's mother died but she didn't know till the neighbors found where she works as they didn't know before, while the cabaret owner's brother (Maguid El- Kidwany) is upset from his brother who throw him to clean the W.C. in the cabaret after his position as a partner, while the body guard always remember when he was a soldier and keep his life to be going straight and fight for the justice but with this way a gangester came to teach him a lesson in oreder to not put himself as justice fighter.
Before the explosion is made the member (Fatehy A. Wahab) could convence the waiter (Ahmed Bedair) to leave this dirty place but his colleague was already come to blow it so he tries but in vain to stop him and tell him that the conversation can get the wanted result. And so the whole cabaret is exploded and everybody is dead except the waiter.

· The Boss "Omar Harb"

Starring: Khaled Saleh, Hany Salama, Somayia Al- Khashab and Ghada A. Razik

The point is don't let yourself as slave of your desire or you will always be a member in the devil's family

And the story is for gambling place where a new dealer (Hany Salama) is starting his career in the casino under the shelter of the boss "Omar Harb" (Khaled Saleh) who teaches the new and supervise what they do, but the more experience the new dealer gets, the faster he want to cheat and gain money using all ways even the illegal ones, he gets involved in relation with a prestitute (Ghada A. Razik) and then fell in love with a guest of the casino (Somayia Al- Khashab) and start to help her with the money he earns but he discover that she didn't put this money where she told him for her husband's surgery.
That's when he final shot comes along when he discovers that the boss "Omar Harb" is not a human, he is the devil and all the situations happened to the dealer and all the people met him were planned to do that and the dealer become the devil's new family member.

Transit Prisoner

the point is don't trust anyone you meet even if you feel he has the key to your success and your survivng

The tale about Ali (Ahmed Ezz) who is involved in crime and sent to prison and lose hope to come out untill Ashraf (Nour Elsherif) visit him in prison as high rank officer then make deal to get him out if he does special mission for Egypt. after the deal is finished Ali is free and rich so he live and marry and got one beautiful child.
5 years later Ashraf meet him again and ask another job and when Ali try to refuse he couldn't so he try to finish this job but it blows up and he is involved in serious troubles and his son will be killed, there he decide to go to police station and meet officer Sherif (Sherif Mounir) who reveal the truth of Ashraf that he is not officer and he is wanted as the best rigger in town.
Here Ali feels that his son was killed for no reason and by the help of the real officer he get his revenge of all the people who have cheated him.

The point is Regligions can be united to have peace if they want

the story for a christian priest (Adel Emam) and Moslem Sheikh (Omar Sharif) whose lives almost destroyed because of the terrosrists and so they had to change their identities and move to another places with their families to have peace of mind and so... the cristian takes moslem identitiy and vice versa for the Moslem but they meet together and have different situations make them close to each other as both thinks that they are on the oposite religion until they discover the truth when the real moslem daughter (Sherry) fall in love with the real chritian son (Mohammed Emam) and they start to avoid eachother but they find that life can put them into the same destiny and so they must get united.

the point is how you must go with your life even if you lost the dearest people or things because life will never stop for your sadness

the tale is about Hassan (Ahmed Helmy) who was suffering of schyzofrania because of the death of his father (Mahmoud Hemaeda) and he is still living like his father is still alive talking to him and discussing with him and he even imagined that he has a girl friend (Menna Shalaby) because he just saw her once in a cafe shop and his mother (Dalal A. Aziz) keep pushing him to have a schicological course for healing until he take it and get back to his real life and get healed.
